Rick Is Learning How To Proofread Band Names By Studying The Spelling Of: Junius - Blood Is Bright

It’s not all that often that I listen to shoegazer-inspired rock. When I do, know that it takes a special band to get me to listen. Junius’ Blood is Bright is definitely a special release. I mistakenly stumbled upon them when searching on the Internet for Jairus and I am so glad I did. When listening to this EP, I get a definite Depeche Mode meets Deftones meets Starflyer 59 vibe, which is a good vibe to give off. The song that really does it for me is “A Word Could Kill Her.” By far their most aggressive song (it even includes some screaming and crunchy guitars toward the end), it is also their most interesting because of all the ground it covers. Definitely think about giving this band a look.
Jared Probably Hates In Flames Because He's Heard: Children of Bodom - Tokyo Warhearts

Website: ( http://www.childrenofbodom.com/) :: Listen: ( http://www.myspace.com/childrenofbodom)
While Limp Bizkit and Korn were tearing up the world, Children of Bodom weren’t far behind. They’ve received a bit more acclaim now that metal has become somewhat more popular in the headbanging masses, but they’re far from a household name. Recorded over two days in July of 1999, Tokyo Warhearts is CoB’s live album. They cover material from Follow the Reaper, Something Wild, and Hatebreeder.
For those who may not be familiar with Bodom, they play black or death metal with heavy use of keyboards. Their songs are very elaborate and contain endless guitar and keyboard solos. This style of music lends itself to huge productions and flamboyant stage shows. Having recently witnessed the Trans-Siberian Orchestra come through town, I can only imagine what the same kind of show would look like with CoB on stage instead. They sound great in the studio and on disc, but they truly do excel live. If you’re a fan of this type of melodic or symphonic metal, check out Tokyo Warhearts. For fans of this band, it really is a treat.
Ben Is Growing Ever More Self-Absorbed By Selecting: Solo Love Sessions - Stroke It to the West: Live at Sundance

Website: (http://www.purevolume.com/sololovesessions) :: Listen: (http://www.myspace.com/sololovesessions)
First and foremost, to clear the air, this album does not exist. It was never recorded. The band is only the most bare bones a band could ever be (an idea with shitty vocal demos). But damn if this imaginary band isn't a touring machine. Or at least, it was this past week, as Solo Love Sessions (AKA me) hit the bars of Sacramento and did some pretty awesome karaoke. Crowds (or lingering patrons who really wish they could get over their crippling alcohol addictions so they wouldn't be forced to listen to this shit) thrilled to almost-exact renditions of Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" and "I Could Have Danced All Night," from the musical My Fair Lady, as well as a fine duet on "Summer Nights" from Grease. Unfortunately, crowds also had to suffer through terrible renditions of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's "Fishin' in the Dark," which, admittedly, I fucked up on purpose, and a sore-throated, choked version of "Wonderboy." To close out the night, Solo Love Sessions, with special guest Drunk-Ass Dude Named Casey, performed a fairly decent version of "Beat It." Later that night, he did. Not really. He was too tired to even contemplate turning the band name into reality.
Kamran Is A Little Ghetto Boy Living In The Ghetto Streets And His Harrowing Tale Of Bravery and Misfortune Can Be Heard On: Dr. Dre - The Chronic
http://www.decoymusic.com/images/ListeningStation/drdre.jpg
Website: (http://www.drdre.com/) :: Listen: ( http://www.drdre.com/)
While there’ve been a string of gangster rap records appearing on fellow Decoy staff picks, none have acknowledged the best and original gangster rap record: Dr Dre’s The Chronic; and although Ben Rice will try to take credit for the recent rash of rap records here at Decoy, I should point my thanks towards Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Moving on to The Chronic… After N.W.A.’s disbandment, Dr. Dre went on to form Death Row Records and release his solo debut The Chronic. Along with creating a new form of rap he called G-Funk, Dr. Dre introduced the world to Snoop Doggy Dog, who is featured throughout the entire album. Love or loathe rap, there’s no denying that The Chronic not only changed rap music forever, it changed music forever.
Johnny Isn't Listening To A Complete Album, A Clear Violation Of The Point Of This Particular Feature, But He Is Enjoying The Hell Out of MySpace Tracks By A Band Called: Jonezetta
http://www.decoymusic.com/images/ListeningStation/jonezetta.jpg
Website: (http://www.jonezetta.com) :: Listen: (http://www.myspace.com/jonezetta)
Jonezetta is Tooth and Nail's latest signing and, after a few "duds" in a row, to me it seems like they got another star on their hands. This quartet blends indie rock with elements of hardcore and dance to make something really refreshing and fun. They are currently in the studio in Nashville recording their Tooth and Nail debut with Steve "Scooter" Wilson. Expect these boys to blow up.
