If you’re looking for one of the heaviest, most brutal and talented pieces of musical composition to come out in the year 2010, then I strongly suggest you grab yourself a copy of Waking the Cadaver’s latest full length, Beyond Cops Beyond God… and if you believe that, then email me and I’ll be sure to tell you about the hour long, in depth political debate I had with my dog and her view on global warming. Honestly, after having to sit through 28.5 minutes of musical exhaustion, I don’t have enough strength left in me to try to forge some words together to make this review a pleasurable read, but I swear I’ll do my best.

In 2006 Waking the Cadaver hit the youtube scene huge with their smash single “Chased Through The Woods” and had deathcore fan boys around the country going wild practicing their best mosh-moves in front of the mirrors in their parents' bedroom. Now, fast forward to present day, present time… Waking the Cadaver have released their latest attempt at fashioning some instrumentation together to make themselves look hip to the latest assembly line of fifteen year old wannabes… and boy does it suck.

Beyond Cops, Beyond God may very well be the biggest nightmare for a record label. Actually, I’m still trying to figure out who is worse off in this scenario, Waking The Cadaver for making this steaming pile or Siege of Amida for actually dishing out the funds to make this thing happen. It’s pretty difficult to try to give a track by track breakdown of this album, since EVERYTHING sounds identical but I’m going to give it a whirl anyways… Ready? Let’s go!

1. Beyond Cops – Shit vocals and sloppy blast beats from the start. Generic breakdowns and juvenile sounding pig squeals.

2. Reign Supreme – The instrumentation is slightly better orchestrated, yet still sounds like a wet fart. Oh, and the vocals do nothing but compliment the wet fart. One more thing, don’t forget the shitty breakdowns.

3. Sadistic Tortures – I took a nap during this song, although I’m pretty sure you can figure out what it sounds like.

Honestly, I’m not going to waste my time with trying to conjure up some fancy words to make this review an interesting read while reaching for some sort of rationalization for each track. So in a nutshell, here’s the rest of the track listing with a cliff notes explanation

4. Made In Hell – Shit

5. Boss Status – Shit

6. Terminate With Extreme Prejudice – Shit

7. Suffering Upon Revenge – Shit

8. Waking The Cadaver – Shit

9. Beyond God– Shit

It seems that they hit the nail on the head with dubbing themselves “Slamming Gore Groove” because their music does nothing short of making me want to slam my head off the pavement until there’s nothing but a bloody, gory mess. I can’t think of one thing on this entire album that makes me think twice about giving it a half-star rating. Nothing about it is enjoyable… nothing. The production quality is even terrible. All I’m doing is working myself up and getting angry at the fact that bands like this put out music and they somehow still strive as a band. Waking The Cadaver is the exact reason that the scene has fallen to shit and Beyond Cops, Beyond God is the glue that cements my comment into place.

I am downloading this just to hear if it is as bad as you say.  I'm assuming so, especially if they sound anything like Annotations for an Autopsy, who are horrible (as I have stated in the past).

Rick, you'll probably end up saying some shit about how it's good to lift to... but it's not even good enough for that. This is probably one of the worste albums i've ever heard.

WHAT A SURPRISE, A DEATHCORE BAND USES THE SAME STOCK TYPE FOR THEIR BAND NAME!!! These guys fucking suck, review is spot on. What the hell is up with not only the band name font (the 3,000th usage of said text), but the cover art and the album title? And this is before even getting to the contents, my god...

Too old to bother, too young to give a shit.

The album cover and title I'm sure are the best things about this CD.

Back in 2006 they had blood splattered satisfaction which had a pretty funny video.. If you like that sort of stuff. They put out that pile of trash full length and I gave up on them right after. There's no way I'd ever even bother listening to this.

Oh my gosh... this is so f'ing horrible. There should be no reason why anyone would listen to this. Ever. Did this band just start playing their instruments a couple of weeks ago? Because it sure sounds like it. Shitty production coupled with shitty, sloppy playing sure makes for a dysmal album.
