Philadelphia has given birth to some outstanding bands the past few decades, in all genres of music, but SPiN (lowercase 'I') will go down in history as not only one of the worst bands I’ve ever heard to come out of that city, but any city anywhere in the history of the world. SPiN is the unfortunate byproduct of four men who have been given too much inexplicable support over the years and no honest individuals in their lives to tell them about how much their band sucks. It’s a classic case for shitty local bands and surely many of you are familiar with this scenario; a group of untalented individuals start a band, but they’re nice guys so no one has the heart to tell them how bad they are, then the band develops some confidence and somehow lands a record deal, most likely with an unknown label owned by a friend.
The end result is releasing an album that can best be described as a long-winded, tour de force of laughable songs with lyrics that sound as if they were stolen from a prepubescent girl’s diary. While I find little to respect about SPiN’s music, the band does have heart. They've toured extensively on their own and recorded BELiEVE entirely by themselves with their own equipment and software. Also, I wholeheartedly believe (no pun intended) that the band put a lot of effort into this album, which is unfortunate because many people are going to be laughing at their expense after hearing it.
The laughter is one hundred percent merited though; it’s mind boggling how SPiN managed to capture the worst elements of music from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. Songs influenced by different decades can be enjoyable and there was some great music to come out of those time periods, but none of that is reflected in any of the songs on BELiEVE. It’s not even worth the time to describe how any of these tracks sound because they’re all bad, but easily accessible online if you want to hear them for yourself. I can in no way, shape, or form condone picking up this album or giving this band any more attention than they are receiving on this site. If you wonder why terrorists hate our freedom, it’s because America allows bands like SPiN to exist.

Their fans are saying some funny shit on their Facebook about this review, but at least they were good sports and promoted it even though it's grossly negative.

We REALLY need a 0 star rating. This is definitely, without a doubt, the worst band I have ever heard in my entire life. AND THEY'RE FROM OUR AREA NICK! UGGGGGGH
this is competing on my list with letlive's record for album of the year.

I'm going to have to lobby for you being banned from this site if you're serious, but I'm assuming you are not, haha.

For some reason the first words to come out of my mouth at the same time their music came out of my speakers were "Oh, no!"

There's no fucking way this can be that bad.
Let me just go to their myspace. Okay. This song "Hurt By You." What could go wrong?
....Fffffuck. Okay how about "Don't Look Down?"
...Oh what the fuck. This is god damn terrible.
Why does this exist? God damn it. My day is ruined.

Hahaha, I'm glad other people realize how bad it is. This is the only negative review I've seen for this album so far, it's like a Twilight Zone episode.

No, dude, this is really that bad. I feel like I lost brains cells just listening to it. So bad that I am having an existential crisis because I can't figure out if I should have used "was" or "were" in my previous post. I have an English Degree from an accredited university, but how can a degree be valid from a world in which music such as this is possible?
