Who?
Canton Ohio power pop/rock/punk band who are now in the major leagues and for good reason. After selling hundreds of thousands of records over the course of three albums with Gotee Records, Relient K has set their site on world domination through melodies.
Sounds Like?
A mix between punk rock and power pop. Think NFG from their S/T days except without the whiney emo lyrics.
How Is It?
The band is either breathing fresh air into a dying pop punk genre or trailblazing one for powerpop. Their mature mix of melodies, uplifting lyrics and genre shifting is guarunteed to make you hum along at the very least or memorize the disc word for word. There are at least two sure fire radio hits in "My Girl's Ex Boyfriend" and "The One I'm Waiting For" so expect big sales from this deserving group and a label who popped in at the right place at the right time.
Final Thought?
This album has hit written all over it. If you can't enjoy this one you're either a snob or you're dead.
