The jumbled and disorganized label that is Victory Records just got a little more confusing. With their roster containing about 75% disgusting and embarrassing bands, it's hard to find bands like the incredible Between The Buried And Me, the colossal Dead To Fall, and the energetic Bury Your Dead in the mix. Now, the intense, brutal, and furious Nights Like These join them in this awkward mix of crap and gemstones.
The Faithless is a short but extremely dangerous 26 minute debut LP. It consists of eleven songs with three of them rerecorded from the band's previous EP. Every song on this album could castrate an army if they were to somehow battle it out. The tones are loud and fierce, and the more melodic sections of the album have a great sludgy feel to them.
The longest song “Ghost Town Rituals” explodes with Norma Jean or The Chariot like verses that transition from blast beats to an ever so catchy southern rock breakdown. “Bury The Messenger”, which was rerecorded from the EP, is the stand out track for me as it opens up with ridiculous grindcore reminiscent of From A Second Story Window. The song just doesn’t quit as it burst into ferocious death metal breakdowns and melodic guitars over palm muting.
I don’t think many bands could have done as well of a job as Nights Like These to fill a quick 26 minute album. Because it’s so short and good, I just cannot stop listening to it, and head banging to its brutalness. There really isn’t anything wrong with this LP. I just hope the band writes another one soon! Pick up The Faithless if you want to hear Victory’s heaviest band yet.

Yeah but I think that because it's shorter it doesn't seem that bad...If this cd was 40 minutes with the same heaviness it definetely would have been overkill. I'm glad this album is so short.

This is a fucking horrible disc. Those comparisons are kind of off, too(besides the slight Chariot/From a Second Story Window influence in the choppy breakdowns).
Seriously, why the hell does this get a 4? The songs on this are waay too short (except for that incredibally boring 5 minute song), they're repetitive, and sound like a million other cliched band's trying out the 'cahotic metalcore' style, except they have a decent production.
Maybe at most, this deserves a 2, but even that's a little high. There are tons of other bands trying this style out that can do it far better. Victory just signed this band because they sound like the next Norma Jean...
