Easily one of the year's worst efforts, Ligeia's second album Bad News is an extremely boring affair that can't possibly be enjoyed by anyone who has had any exposure to the hardcore scene in the late 2000s. There's not one positive thing to be said about this band: they're painfully generic, their screamer cannot sing and consistently tries to -- and did I mention that they were boring? The only song that might incite some sort of non-upchuck reflex could be the title track, but even that is so third-rate Every Time I Die it's not even funny. How this band has a record deal is beyond me, and how they even managed to convince Ferret Records to let them record a second album makes me question their ever-failing integrity even more. When the most interesting thing about your band is its name (they got it from Edgar Allan Poe), you know there's something wrong.

Skip this entirely. There is no possible reason I can think of to recommend you waste time on this party-band rip-off version of a distant, moronic cousin of Poison the Well.

I really liked Ligeia's debut album, but this one is utter crap. Enough with the party band bullshit.

They sound like a bad mix of Every Time I Die and The Acacia Strain.

I enjoy like 2 songs on this record. That is all.

When the singer tries to sing it reminds me a little of Howard Jones from Killswitch Engage.

The Cityscape Burns Brighter By The Hour.

Haha, why did this not get 0.0/5? Is that a valid rating option?

i don't give ridiculously low scores. i think that's unprofessional. a 1.5 is the lowest you'll ever see me give.
