What comes after hardcore? Screamo! Post-hardcore if you will. Cue Endicott. Hailing from Albany, NY, their mission is to bring you their brand of fast paced, emotionally charged rock. Their Equal Vision debut The Words In Ink Don't Lie, blends screaming lyrics, melody, and that silky attitude that can only come from the east coast.

Combining elements of pop punk, hardcore, and rock together, Endicott doesn’t tread too far off the heavily beaten path. In fact the band fails to create anything worthy of the ground-breaking stamp. What you’ll find on this disk is more flavor-of-the-month screamo lyrics, distorted riffs, and all around average sounds.

With nothing to make it stand out, this record fails to snag the listener and falls short of keeping them interested as well. Had this record come out 2 or 3 years ago, it would’ve achieved great acclaim. Unfortunately in this day and age, it’s almost doomed to fail in the saturated market.

While, Endicott give it a good shot with The Words In Ink Don't Lie, they fall short of extraordinary. Not that they don’t deserve credit. I’m sure they’ve worked hard to be where they’re at, but these days it takes a lot to be unique and it takes a lot more to be good at it.
