I AM BACK PEOPLE. After a long absence, your beloved music critic is BACK, and BACK for good! I come at you today with a debut release from a group called Dropbox. Dropbox bring to the table a sound which is very familiar and very welcoming. When you listen to this album, you can hear many other bands melding together to make this album, and this band. When you listen to this album, you can enjoy it and appreciate the past decade (the 90s) from where many bands came out, exploded onto the scene, and took a strangle hold of the music industry and world. Sit back, relax, and read this stellar review!
The sound which Dropbox brings is, as I said, a very familiar one. You can hear instances of Godsmack, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and others. When a band can sound like this, how can it be bad? Answer, not bad at all, but damn DAMN good. The first track, entitled Wishbone, comes at you bluntly and gets you hooked! It has some nice hard rock riffs which is always good for the soul and the rhythm is awesome. All through out the album, you can tie the sound Dropbox creates with the bands I mentioned above (Godsmack, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, etc); with everything based around success, you really can't go wrong. I have seen many bands use generic models to create themselves and such, but they were never based on great, almost titan-like bands. I'm very pleased with Dropbox's first effort; solid sound and song construction/creation. Dropbox has a very mature feel and sound about them. I think that Dropbox, in time, will be as successful as their hard rock, almost grunge like predecessors. Going back to their releases, key songs of note: Wishbone, Fall Away, End Of Days, and Nowhere Man. As I mentioned, Dropbox sounds mature, but they also possess that "raw" talent which gives them the edge and a true lead among other up and coming bands! So kids, I have yet again presented my case for a band which I truly enjoy, it's up to YOU to take my good advice and listen to Dropbox, trust me.
Overall, a truly great debut. Solid sound, great songs, and a good all round package. Well boys and girls, what can I say? Bet you all missed me like a bad rash! Ah-hA, I am _SO_ funny. Anyways, go out there and show some love for Dropbox, they'd do the SAME for YOU ALL! When you go to your proms this year, remember to pack a condom, some lube, a pack of smokes, and remember: when your girl moans, she's really thinking about ME.
