Daniel Tosh doesn't believe in segue ways. He doesn't believe in smooth transitions. Daniel Tosh doesn't believe in the punchline. His opinion is, why have one punchline when you can have three or four, each one more hilarious and well-conceived than the prior, building and building until the entire audience is soaked in their own urine.

Tosh isn't afraid to cover any topic. Race, religion, societal constraints, sports, addiction, the homeless… all fair game. His off-beat, off-the-wall humor is a breath of fresh air in a world where comedians are stuck in a sorry state where one obvious punchline is enough. I don't know if it's that he loves everyone and everything so he feels free to discuss them all or if he absolutely hates everyone, including the audience and himself. The confusion stems from the fact that he will attack the audience for taking him too seriously and he's also quick to point out that sometimes, his logic does require a few leaps of faith or, on occasion, an understanding of obscure and unrelated references. All of it is hilarious, though. He often tells offensive jokes just to spin it back to prove a point about the way the world is going.

For the longest time, I've found that comedians fit a niche market. Political, profanity-laced comedy? Look for some David Cross. Intent on getting your societal flaw jokes? George Carlin. Daniel Tosh is for everyone without dumbing things down. He's just incredible. He won't cater to any particular party and will lambaste both sides of any issue. So if you can take the jokes he'll make at your expense, you'll love this album. Plus it comes with a DVD of his performance on Comedy Central Presents. This performance is on par with the underrated Nick Swardson's, which, if you haven't seen it, is amazing. The album, though, is ten times better.

This is hands down my favorite comedy cd. Dude is so offensive without actually being so - he always finds the perfect loophole to his jokes to come out still looking the good guy. Saw him live once too and every bit as good in person (didn't just gather all the good moments for cd only).

reviewing comedy albums is a fucking difficult endeavor. holy shit. i don't think i could ever possibly do this album justice without simply typing out all of his jokes.

I'm not here to make things better; only to observe and pass judgement.

lately, my computer has been such a piece of shit that i'm afraid ripping an album will toast it.
