Reading press releases can at times be more enjoyable than listening to Dave Attell’s comedy CD Skanks for the Memories. Instead of writing a 2 page paper of puffery, the band could be summed up with this:

“Back when bands like 40 Below Summer and Slaves on Dope were popular, 2Cents would fit right in. Lost At Sea is an album that is in the past and should’ve been made in the past.”

Everything about this band screams “Huh?” First off, if you want to be metal you don’t put money in your band name, that’s for rappers. Second, don’t say you don’t care about things, because it shows that you didn’t care about your music.

There is not one song on this album that has one ounce of “good” in it. The production on the CD sounds like something some amateurs made in their bedroom while on meth. In the song “Victims of Pop Culture”, the song starts out with a person whispering “Pop music is the enemy” over and over. It is just funny hearing that because 2Cents are playing a genre of music that relied completely on its mainstream culture appeal back in the day.

The band’s label Gotizm Music entered a worldwide pact with Atlantic Records late last year. With the amount of money and experience that is behind the label, you would think they could find better bands than this. Geesh!

Haha. I will never listen to this CD again. Even if I'm blackmailed.

I actually want to hear this just to know how bad it really is... as if the album cover doesn't say enough. What were they thinking?
