Rupert Murdoch, owner of News Corp (Fox) has purchased Myspace for a reported $580 million. Murdoch is looking to increase traffic and interest in Fox websites. By purchasing the domain and rights to the site they hope to drive more traffic to their sites. Myspace.com is the fifth most viewed domain on the internet.
