Tides of Man have premiered a track entitled "Young and Courageous" off their upcoming album. As of now it is purely instrumental as they have parted ways with their vocalist Tilian Pearson, it showcases possibly a new direction for the band, and is available for free download (in exchange for your email address) at their website TidesofMan.com

Official press release:

"Darkest Hour have signed a worldwide deal with Sumerian Records and are hard at work on their much anticipated new full-length album. The group are currently on tour throughout North America with Killswitch Engage, Miss May I and The Word Alive."

Darkest Hour: "To say that Sumerian Records and label owner Ash Avildsen are big supporters of this band would be a huge understatement. We have been proud to call Ash our friend since our early years and this friendship has flourished greatly since then via our relationship with his sister company, The Pantheon Booking Agency.

"When you start a band you dream that one day you can do what you love with great friends and family around you. Now it all seems to have come full circle. With the good people at Outerloop Management, Sumerian Records and the Pantheon Agency we finally feel right at home. Every aspect of  the group is being handled by long-time trusted friends and is in reliable hands. This safe haven has given us the shelter we need to put together a life-changing new album.

"Before we could see it coming, we've been thrust out of Oceanic Studios (where we've been working with producer Taylor Larson) and back out on the road. Please come see us live with Killswitch Engage (dates listed below) if we're
coming to your city and it will also be our first tour with new drummer Travis Orbin. As soon as we get home we'll be back to the hermit life in the studio where we can finish up this album. To our brother Ash, Sumerian and all of you out there here's a huge cheers to 2014, a new Darkest Hour album and the future."

Ash Avildsen further comments: "Darkest Hour are some of the best dudes I have ever met in music. They're also one of the most underrated bands in metal and Sumerian is here to change that. Their influential debut album, The Mark Of The Judas, which never saw the real light of day due to their label at the time going under the day it came out, will finally get a proper release this fall, along with a new studio record. DC pride."

Official press release:

"ASG and Weedeater have announced a four-week tour across the United States, kicking off on June 27 in Savannah, Ga. at The Jinx.

The tour comes as ASG celebrate their highest charting and most critically acclaimed album to date, the breakthrough release Blood Drive. The twelve-song collection landed at #15 on Billboard’s Heat Seeker chart and also had impressive debuts on the trade magazine’s Hard Music (#32) and Indie (#67) charts. The album is streaming via Bandcamp at asgnation.bandcamp.com.

Stereogum said “Blood Drive is a heavy album, no question, but it’s primarily a catchy album, full of resin-sticky summertime metal.” Revolver called the album “a catchy, melodic triumph of heavy music,” while Alternative Press asserted that “mentioning ASG in the same breath as riff-rockers Torche or Queens of the Stone Age is not only misleading, it might even be an understatement.” Artist Direct went even further saying “every now and again a band puts out a record that changes the tides for them” and continued by describing Blood Drive as a “tipping point moment.”

Fellow North Carolinians, Weedeater recently performed at Maryland Death Fest and are currently featured in the premiere episode of Noisey’s Heavy Dicks series (http://youtu.be/nze_JpRrksQ). The band is currently working on a follow-up to 2011’s Jason… The Dragon.

Just days after I did all that work to post their teaser, Hands Like Houses went ahead and put out a lyric video for "Introduced Species" about how we're all aliens, or about how Australians were foisted upon the continent as cast-offs from Britain, or something. Anyway, video below:

I The Mighty have premiered the video for "Failures" off their new album Satori  which was released today.

Supergroup Palms (Deftones, Isis) have yet another song online!  Check out "Future Warrior" here.

Hands Like Houses will be releasing their sophomore album Unimagine via Rise Records on July 23rd. Album teaser below-- post 2:05 is a clip of a new song.

Recently a member of the Westboro Baptist Church commented on The Dillinger Escape Plan's new album...

“Dude needs a hug. God has put his standard in the Earth, and all of the problems that this song tries to sound a ‘yawp’ about come as a result of the rampant disobedience of God. They have become vain in their imaginations and their foolish hearts were darkened. They worship the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever.”

Dillinger responded....

“Of all the great reviews we’ve seen of the new songs on ONE OF US IS THE KILLER, this one from the WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH may be the most informed and insightful."

Help Decoy pay the bills!

Posted at 05:28AM

Hello loyal Decoy readers. I wanted to provide a quick update to everyone about how the site is funded and how we continue to exist. We have traditionally been right around breaking even each month, some months losing money and some months having a few extra dollars in our pockets. For the last year or two our income had decreased since the advertising budgets of many music labels/bands/tours simply dried up. With that drying up, we switched to using Google ads to supplement. This, unfortunately, was not as good of a revenue source and I have been covering about 50% of our hosting bills out of my pocket. I'm happy to do this as I love Decoy and don't ever want it to go away, but it's always helpful if Decoy can sustain itself.

As of last month, Google closed our adsense account, providing no reason and they are unwilling to re-open it, so that means I had to switch our ad provider. We now use Amazon as our ad provider. The difference between Google and Amazon is that Decoy receives no money for the amount of ad displays, but we get a small referral cut when you buy something on Amazon and you go to the site through one of the banners on Decoy. I know most people use Amazon to buy things, so to help keep Decoy's bills manageable, I'm asking that if you're going to buy something on Amazon, please just click on one of the banners on the site on your way to Amazon so we get a little cut. It helps support the site and I will very much appreciate it.

Thank you again, everyone, for your continued support of Decoy.
