Saw them with Junius, utterly bored the entire time, this band is blah. Junius was incredible.

Haha, I had the complete opposite experience when I saw that tour.

I've been obsessed with O'Brother but just recently got into Junius after their newest album came out, so I'm sure you got more out of their set than I did. The problem I had when I saw them live is that the bass was so loud that it overpowered all the instruments and the vocals so I couldn't even hear what was going on, which definitely soured it for me.

Doesn't sound like the bands fault, sounds like the venues soundboard fault.

+ there are a literal fuck ton of bands that sound like O'brother, rather, that O'brother sound like, the stoner metal/rock/grunge/alt-country thing is great but not when you've heard 1000 bands do it. You'd be hard pressed to name 2 that sound like Junius.

I get your point. For me, I think they mix all their influences well enough that I don't care if they resemble other bands. I will agree that I can't think of too many bands that sound like Junius though. And I wasn't saying Junius was to blame for the shitty sound...just saying it ruined their set for me.

I'm sorry, I don't hear any likeness at all. Unless you're merely pointing out they use the same types of instruments? Surely you don't mean to say the vocals are alike? One has the voice of a god and they other sounds like he perpetually has snot on his upper lip and is always whining like a little bitch.
