Killswitch Engage has announced departure of vocalist Howard Jones, who has been with the band since 2002. The group has issued the following statement:
"To
our family, friends and fans: We have decided to continue on without
Howard Jones as the singer of Killswitch Engage. We love Howard and are
thankful for the nine years that we've had him in the band. Out of
respect for everyone involved we will not be discussing the specific
reasons behind this decision. Howard is a part of our family and always
will be, and we wish him well. He has left big shoes to fill, so we
certainly have our work cut out for us to find the next singer of
Killswitch, something we plan on making priority #1 going forward. Most
importantly, thanks to all of you for all the support throughout the
years and for sticking by us for all this time. We really do appreciate
it and we very much look forward to having a new record for all of you
in the not too distant future that we can all be proud of. Sincerely,

I have to disagree. Killswitch lost my love after Alive or just breathing -> Howard was just too "singy" (to make up a word there). Jessie had the right balance. Maybe that's just the way the band was going becoming more melodic or whatever but I'm blaming Howard. It would be great to see JL back in front but he's going great guns in that new band of his. Even so:

Anyone got any theories as to what happened to Howard? Could it be drugs? Or.... *gasp*.... Racial?

Both vocalists were/are great fits for the band, so I didn't have much of a favorite, though I wasn't a big fan of the lame direction the band had taken of late.
Allegedly Howard had some baby daddy drama with an ex-pornstar. None of it was confirmed, but it is interesting that Jones wasn't heard from since the incident.

Howard, in my opinion, is one of the best vocalists in metalcore. I like him better in BHBS but I love Killswitch too.
At the last Hellfest ever in the States, I hooked up with this old broad who had something to do with Pluto Records and he was in her hotel room hanging out with a bunch of other Hellfest Celebs. I was like 20 and thought it was fuckin AWESOME! My story has nothing to do with the story above but I just thought I'd share hahaha.
