Check out It Starts With Alaska's video for "The Creature" in the comments. They were one of the better acts in my Battle of the Bands series last Spring.

UK post-hardcore/rock outfit Lower Than Atlantis has signed a deal with Island Records.
We're not yet sure if the deal is worldwide or for Europe only (their
last record was released in the U.S. via Sumerian Records).

The
band had the following to say: "You may have heard this already, but
we're pleased to announce that we have signed to Island Records! Keep
spreading the word and remember - FUCK IT TO THE MAN!"

Trivium look to already have a basic timeline mapped out for their next album. According to a recent tweet from bassist Paolo Gregoletto, the group plan to enter the studio early next year to begin recording the outing.

All Pigs Must Die‘s (Converge, The Hope Conspiracy) long-delayed new 7″ has finally seen a release. The outing features the unreleased song “Curse Of Humanity” and the track “Extinction Is Ours” — which is taken from their latest release, “God Is War“. The 7″ has been limited to a pressing of 500 copies and can be picked up over at Deathwishinc.com.

TesseracT are nearly done tracking material for their new acoustic EP. They will follow it up by shifting their focus to their next album. Speaking on that recently through their Facebook they stated: "We’ve got one more track to finish and then we hand in the acoustic inspired EP to the label. At which point we’ll start work on the big number 2! Which robably won’t be called two, sorry. Probably...”

Converge drummer Ben Koller has wrapped up
laying down the drum tracks for seventeen songs for possible inclusion
on the bands upcoming album. The group began recording the effort
earlier this week at Godcity with band guitarist Kurt Ballou once again handling the production duties.

Darkest Hour were apparently robbed on tour during their recent Canadian dates with Machine Head and Suicide Silence. No word on what was stolen from the band.

Current Testament drummer Gene Hoglan has been pulling double duty on the bands current tour with Anthrax and Death Angel. Hoglan has been filling in for Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante, who has taken a short leave from the trek to be with his terminally ill mother.

Dredg, He Is Legend, Fair To Midland, Junius, Dead Letter Circus, Caspian and more are just some of the artists featured on the new free digital compilation, “Escaping The Ordinary: Volume 3“. You can grab it at Escapingtheordinary.net.
