midtown didn't screw drive-thru over. they helped start the label and released 'save the world lose the girl' on it, and it did really well. when drive-thru got picked up by MCA for distribution, the contract totally fucked drive-thru in the sense that the label could 'bump up' any of the artists they wanted without drive-thru's consent. they chose to do this to midtown, and made midtown release 'living well is the best revenge' on mca. midtown didn't like mca and was not having a good time anymore so they forced themselves out of their contract and distanced themselves from drive-thru. they signed to columbia, god knows why, for their next album.

as for chris carraba, he was friends with new found glory dudes and had recorded his album and new found glory dudes had it released on drive-thru for him, but he was never essentially a drive-thru recording artist since he didn't have a contract. he then went and signed to vagrant because they were gonna give him the mad cash. new found glory dudes and drive-thru were like 'omgwtf' and they weren't cool with chris anymore.
