I am quite sure that some of you have worked or are employed at a retail corporation currently. I have seen some acts of incredible foolishness over the years of being a manager at Lowe's, but something that I saw today has got to be the one of the greatest. We have a tall fence around the outside garden center that people attempt to climb over at night in order to steal things form the store. Little do they realize that we have store wide motion sensors. Anyway, I have rarely seen people attempting to throw items over the fence during business hours in order to walk around and retrieve them later. About 4pm today this guy tries to throw 3 chainsaws still in their packages over the fence. He makes it so obvious what he intends to do that me and another manager notice him easily and wait to retrieve them as he throws them over. As soon as he does it, we walk over in front of him and pick them up. He sees us pick them up and runs back into the store while we laugh. Okay, that's funny enough to ridicule him for; but what is really pathetic is that he attempts it again 2 more times in the same day. THE SAME DAY! I finally decided to ask him if he needed my "assistance" and he replied, "no man, I'm just checking to see if they are going to break from a long fall out of a tree." No one can make this shit up.....It blows my mind that he actually thought that I would believe him. Does anybody else have stupidity like this happen to them because I would love to hear about it. my best friend works at the UPS Store and continuously comments about how bad he hates working with the public. everyone thinks they're owed something apparantly he says and he just hates dealing with the public. i hate it also, cant wait to get a job just dealing with clients and companies and not customers directly and different personalities all day. still on my unemployment. Haha, that guy with the chainsaws sounds like a new breed of moron. I saw some serious crazy working at a public library during late high school/early college. Let's see ... there was the guy who got caught masturbating in the magazine section, for starters. Although I think the weirdest was this little old Asian gentleman who looked kinda like George Takei. He apparently had a skin condition, so he put this clear, gooey ointment on his hands and wore gloves -- I assumed so it wouldn't get all over everything. But he would ALWAYS take off the gloves before handling books. For months we had no idea what was going on, so we'd suddenly grab a book off a table that felt like it was covered in man gravy. And after the masturbating incident ... yeah. Disturbing. |
