Diablo Swing Orchestra are an 8-piece Swedish avant-garde metal outfit. The band's third album Pandora's Pinata is unlike anything you will hear this year. Take a dose of epic prog song structures from Muse, maybe a dash of the folky, gypsy sensibilities of Gogol Bordello, add the low-end and batshit insanity of Fair to Midland, the orchestration of Beirut, and the swing-revival of I don't know, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy? And you're still not fucking close. There's huge brass sections, operatic vocals, chunky bass, and wildly vacillating song structures. Get some.

Yeah, the vocals aren't necessarily the most accessible thing you'll hear. I'm all about insanely inventive stuff though, so I found myself adoring this glorious trainwreck of a million genres for all its flaws.
