Dug up by our prolific Bandcamp scavenger Bucky Brown, Silver Snakes' Pictures of a Floating World is not a new album by any means, but it was new to all of us. It also impressed the hell out of us. Cut from the same sonic cloth as Thrice, Fugazi, and Engine Down, Silver Snakes put on a master class in diverse, perfectly-executed post hardcore, with bite, and grit, and weight. As an added bonus, the band just dropped a 2-song single on July 24th that kicks just about as much ass as their debut.

Totally agree about the new singles. Circles live was unbelievable. It put me in a trance at their show with Aeges a couple weeks ago. The live performance was outstandingly loud and precise. If they manage to put together an album on par with the new songs, it will surpass Pictures. Glad to see everybody digging it as opposed to most my stoner/blues/sludge rock recommendations. Haha.

The other day I had to sit and wait for someone, so I air-guitared the perfect Bucky song.
