Fail Emotions

It's gotten to the point that the genre "trancecore" is nearly synonymous with "shitcore." With the success of bands like Enter Shikari and SkyEatsAirplane a few years back, I was anxiously seeking out anything mixing dance/dubstep/electronics with post-hardcore or metalcore. Unfortunately 99% of the bands seeing this as an untapped market didn't know what the hell they were doing and created generic metalcore that had cheesy keys or synth lines added to their mess. I had nearly given up on the genre, but someone mentioned a Russian band called Fail Emotions to me and that I must check them out. Hesitantly, I did, and I haven't stopped spinning their recent Speed of Light EP since. This is the perfect melding of dance-y electronics, dubstep, post-hardcore, and hints of djent. Imagine, if you will, a mixture of Innerpartysystem, Dead By April, Tiesto, The Word Alive, Skrillex, and I See Stars. It may sound like a mess, but it's obnoxiously catchy and will be impossible for you to set aside.

It's a bit rough around the edges, but this basically sounds like what I've wanted Enter Shikari to sound like.  It definitely features all of the catchy (read: guilty pleasures) elements of both genres.

Yeah, that's what got me--they have the catchy elements down. If they polish things off they could really, really, really take off.

Yeah, I think they need to get a good producer and make a full-length within a year.  The novelty of dubstep metal will wear off quickly, but if they can improve just a bit, they should get huge.  I would take this over almost anything on Rise or Victory.

I'm still trying to figure out how they need 7 guys in the band :-)
