All Pigs Must Die

The term "Supergroup" has become somewhat of a four-letter word. Four or five talented musicians come together as alumni of four or five talented bands to record an album that is crushed under the weight of its own hype, leaving four or five disappointed fan bases in its wake. With an all-star line-up featuring members of Converge, The Hope Conspiracy, Bloodhorse and The Red Chord, All Pigs Must Die certainly deserve the title of Supergroup, but does their "blender genre" of deathcore, hardcore and d-beat deserve the hype? When Decoy shakes our magic Cody Rogers-Ball, all signs point to Yes, so be on the lookout for his review, and be sure to check out All Pigs Must Die for yourself.

I gave this a listen after reading Cody's review. It's fucking amazing, though I still have no idea what "crusty d-beats" are after intense Googling and Youtube surfing.

"Sadistic Vindictor" is especially good. Love the heavy post-metal vibes in the middle of the song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkLY2n892ms&feature=related Crusty D-Beat. D-beat is referring to the drum beat in this song and others used by d-beat bands, stemming first from the band Discharge. Other crusty dbeat bands, His Hero Is Gone, Disfear, Severed Head Of State, etc.

Either way, God Is War slays. Will say, where the hell does the deathcore comparison come in? No of these guys have created anything close to deathcore and this band certainly hasn't created any deathcore. Oh well. Good jams!
