The Red Chord is a band often credited with founding the genre of deathcore. Formed in 1999, the Revere, Massachushetts exports have been churning out album upon focused album ever since 2002's attention-grabbing Fused Together in Revolving Doors. With bassist Greg Weeks and drummer Brad Fickeisen joining the line-up and a recent signing to Metal Blade Records imprint Black Market Activities, the group released Clients in 2005. Riding on the success of their sophomore album, which sold over 30,000 copies in the US alone, the band released Prey for Eyes in 2007. The more experimental release was followed up with 2009's Fed Through the Teeth Machine. Zeroing in on the perfect line-up as a four piece, Fed Through the Teeth Machine is the band's hardest hitting album yet and a strong contender for album of the year. Look for the band on tour in 2009 with labelmates GWAR.
