Senate is a sweet trip of alternative rock, influenced by bands like 311, Rage Against The Machine, and Incubus. A perfect combination of rhythm and flow, solid guitars, and worldly percussion tied into a ball of positivity and love for music that explodes on stage in a captivating and unforgettable live show.
Since April of 2007 Senate has been treading forcefully forward, seamlessly drawing the attention of Florida music scene. . Drawing influences from reggae, jazz, hip hop, & rock, Senate has cultivated a sound to pull you away from the same power chord chorus heard over and over again on the radio.
Drawing large crowds of people has not been uncommon across Florida and the Southeast. “The support is overwhelming,” says singer, guitarist Blake Johnson. “We never imagined things would be going so well for us with only a years worth of work under our belt. Hands down, we have the best friends and fans anyone could ask for and it has shown with all the support we have received.” In December of 2008 Senate signed with Fuel Records and began a new journey in their music careers.
Senate is releasing their debut Album named Transcend in the spring of 09. The LP had some of the best producers in the industry work on the project, including James Wisner (Underoath/Paramore), Pete Thornton (Shinedown/Rob Thomas), Brett Hestla (Dark New Day/Virgos), and Brooks Paschal (Sullivan). Look for Senate on Tour in 2009.
