Bio

Late 1999 two cousins in high school decide to get together at family parties and play cover songs. One day they attempt to write a song of their own, they like this idea and decide to stick with it. that is how orange island was formed.

Drummer Charles Young, and Brendan Dickhaut who play guitars were those cousins. Chuck decided to give his old pal Dave Gorman a call and ask him to come and sing over it and he couldn’t say no, since then the three have gone through 4 bass players, 3 vans and countless bottles of booze to get where we are.

They have toured relentlessly up and down the east coast and Midwest with bands like Brand New, The Movielife, Static Lullaby, Breaking Pangea as well as developing a rapid fan base throughout the New England area. With one ep The Shape Of Calling and one full length Everything You Thought You Knew released through Boston's Iodine Recordings Orange Island are finally ready to release the album they've always envisioned. That is why they decided to self-title the album. Orange Island the album finally captures Orange Island the band at this moment in time. With the help of Brian Mcternan (Thrice, Hot Water Music, The Movielife), Matt Squire and Mike Poorman (Hot Rod Circuit drummer) the band were able to make such an incredible sounding record. From the out and out rockers “Oh, How Clintonian Of Me” and “Burn Off Your Fingertips” to the emotional “Knife In Hand” and longtime crown favorite “Silent Partner” there is something for everyone.
