In 2009 Octaves formed in Baltimore, MD. They are five friends who decided to change their pace from the current trends in music to something that was different, cathartic, and that felt real. It's safe to say they have hit the ground running since meeting only so long ago and writing their first songs. Playing heavily in the Baltimore and Tri-state areas, they found others who may not have understood exactly what the band was doing but liked it for its engaging elements and different approaches alike. Taking nods from their predecessors, the band has relentlessly played every show as though it was the last and treated every experience like it was their first. After recording their first full length in the hours of midnight to 6am with producer Justin Chapman at the renounced Glow in the Dark Studios, they plan to take their art to every corner they can. Combining elements of Late 90's Screamo, frenetic energy and overall dark themes, Octaves only plans to further innovate and never imitate.
