Bio

Minor Authority was formed in late 2004 by Nathan Harris (later to become the infamous "B.W." Harris) and original guitarist Steve Kicreast. The punk rock duo began playing in clubs and dive bars with only their guitars and a drum machine, but because of the lack of songs a typical MA set was only a mere ten minutes. After Steve left the band to start his own blues solo project Nate tried to recruit new members into the band with little success. After two and a half something years of nothing happening except for depression and a nasty drug habit, Nate moved to Longmont to help calm his wicked lifestyle.

In late 2007 after providing vocals on "Liberty Bell" (which would become the first Minor Authority song ever) Nate began collaberating with Denver music scene veteran Chris Barber about recording a full Minor Authority album. After two years of writing with longtime friend and musical guru Ian P. Gilchrist and recording with Ian and Love 45 drummer Jim Messina, the first album "punk Side Up" was born. Of course you can't get far with only a record and no band, so in mid 2008 Nate began searching for new recruits to form his band. After months of members coming and going, girlfriend problems, binge drinking, a relapse into drugs, and your typical band drama, it almost seemed impossible that this band would get anywhere. Then in August of 08' after longs talks with his family and friends, and some strong will power that even Bruce Wayne would would even admire, Nate finally sobered up for good and began his band search with a clear head.

After a few months of no success, Nate ran into Brandon "Dinosaur" Styles whome lived only a few blocks away from Nate in late January. After rehearsals with just the devious duo that Nate and Dino had become, Daniel Oi took position of bass guitar a few weeks later. It seemed to be a chance meeting because Nate had ran into Dan at a birthday party for one of the previous drummers a year back. Though he did not remeber much of the night, he still claims that he was "the biggest asshole I ever met. But now that I know him, I can say he's a good kid." The lineup was finally secured by Nick McCallister taking the drumthrone.

After 3 whole years of failure, Minor Authority still broke through the wall and is keeping true to punk to this day, and hopefully for many more years to come. The future is unwritten, but one thing is for sure. No matter what happens in this world, the great MA and all the punks who follow will still be screaming untill the mushroom cloud ends us all.
