It’s been a long time coming for Comrades joining the Blood & Ink family. With them calling Richmond, Virginia home (where B&I is based), we’ve had the fortune of watching them grow and mature as musicians, becoming the amazing band they are today.
What makes Comrades so remarkable isn’t that they create such a big sound as a three-piece nor that they feature a recently married couple (just this past weekend!) on guitar and bass respectively (although both things are definitely cool). Instead, it’s their passionate character and great songwriting that set them apart. Few bands exhibit such genuineness, both on and off the stage (or floor, as it often happens to be) and everyone that encounters the members of Comrades would likely agree. Add to that a knack for writing songs that clearly reference their influences but somehow also defy definition, and it’s clear to see why this band has become so well loved and respected across many lines that otherwise often divide.
