Bio
Anthony Green is a musician from Doylestown, PA. He is currently the lead singer of Circa Survive and vocalist for The Sound of Animals Fighting, and previously in the bands Saosin, Audience of One, Jeer At Rome, High and Driving, and Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer. He is known for his extremely high vocal range and dynamics.
In December 2005, Green embarked on a mini solo tour, opening for Fred Mascherino (ex Taking Back Sunday, as The Color Fred) including a stop in his hometown, Philadelphia, PA on December 27, 2005, which was recorded in full. The set included some Circa Survive songs and some of his own.
After announcing his first solo album called Avalon, Green played three acoustic shows towards the end of December 2007 to give fans a taste of what the album will be like. During the 2008 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas, he played two daytime shows (including the Alternative Press party) as part of a five-date mini tour. On the Austin dates, he was accompanied by the band Good Old War.
Avalon was released in August 2008, peaking at #44 on the Billboard 200 in the United States.
Green has made it clear this was only a side project and something he has "always wanted to do." Anthony plans to remain active in Circa Survive and has stated that the band encouraged him to do something with all the songs he had been working on. According to Green's MySpace page, the CD was titled Avalon after Avalon, New Jersey where he recorded the majority of the songs.
On August 31st, Green announced that he was not playing in Houston, Texas, since Hurricane Gustav was supposed to hit Houston.
Anthony Green was rumored to be part of a new band headed by Craig Owens of Chiodos and Jonny Craig of Emarosa called Isles & Glaciers. However, now that the official lineup has been released, Anthony Green was shown to not be a member. This does not rule out the possibility that Green may collaborate or be featured with Isles & Glaciers in the future.
